The Concept of Back Pusher Tractor

April 30th, 2009 . by admin

In western countries, most commonly, Ford 5000 was used in Agriculture industry and the farmers made use of the pulling power for plowing, tilling, disking, harrowing, seeding, and similar duties.

In the 1960s, there was a man who was working as a miner in Perak Malaysia. He brainstormed a concept about modifying a Ford tractor for use in the tin industry. This innovative idea was to make use of the tractor’s pushing power by operating a tractor in reverse gear as well as attaching a big bucket at the back of machine. Thus this machine is abbreviated simply as ‘back pusher tractor’. Back pusher tractor was designed for pushing use in tin mines.

This concept totally changed Malaysia’s tin industry. It helped to increase tin production tremendously compared to traditional methods.
