Find Out How To Dunk A Basketball

November 11th, 2009 . by admin

It is the most celebrated shot in basketball. It is the dream of most average players and it is an in-the-face “statement” that a good player makes to the other team. It is the slam dunk. We all know WHAT it is, and most of us WISH we could do it. But How To Dunk a basketball? Before an average person should even think about dunking, he needs to assess where he is at and be realistic. A player’s height and his athletic abilities are the two main factors that determine from the beginning if he will ever be able to dunk.

Future Football Coach Writing Flag Football Plays

November 4th, 2009 . by admin

The other night I went into my son’s room to tuck him into bed, and I found him still awake, writing in a notebook. I sat down beside him on the bed and asked him what he was doing. He said that he was writing flag football plays for his team, so that they would be ready for recess the next day. I had no idea he even knew what plays were, let alone how to write them! But looking over some of them, they were pretty stinking creative. I think I just might have a future football coach on my hands!

Proper Body Mechanics

November 2nd, 2009 . by admin

Athletics are always looking for ways to get faster, go further and endure longer.  Proper body mechanics is one of the key ingredients to achieving these goals.  I made it a goal to find a good coach who had a good understanding of proper body mechanics, and could watch and evaluate my use of my body in relationship to the ground and the obstacles of my sport.  This coach helped me establish good posture and developed a routine that was designed to make me aware of where different parts of my body were in relationship to the action I was trying to create, it made all of the difference in helping me achieve my goals.

My Father Needs G5 Irons

October 29th, 2009 . by admin

My father loves to play golf.  He is not very good at it yet, but he still loves to play.  I was reading an article online that talked about ways to improve your golf scores.  It highly recommended using G5 Irons and said that it could take 5-6 strokes off of your game.  I was so excited to tell my father all about it.  He says that he needs all of the help that he can get and it sounded like a great idea to him.  He ordered a set of G5 Irons and it really has helped to improve his game.

Hunting Dogs From The Pet Store

October 25th, 2009 . by admin

I was passing by the pet store when I read the sign that they are currently selling hunting dogs. I immediately pulled over and went to the store to take a look. As I walked inside, I saw a lot of animals. I asked the manager where was the hunting dogs. He pointed to the corner and I instantly saw the Fox Terrier. It was one of the most beautiful creatures I’ve seen. I asked if the dog already received some hunting dog training. Turns out the terrier did receive some. I bought the Terrier and I named him Bruney.

bevy of broken Demarini J2 wooden bats

October 21st, 2009 . by admin

In the early days of baseball (mid 19th century), many players who made their own bats tried making flat and round bats of differing weights. Barrel-shaped bats became the standard as they were found to be the most efficient. Fast-forward to the 1970s and a new form of bat made from aluminum is being used in college baseball. The change was driven by dwindling athletic program budgets, and a bevy of broken Demarini J2 wooden bats. Despite the necessity of the change, opinions are strong on both sides. Some say the alloy bats make it easier to get hits that raise your batting average. Others say it makes things more exciting because there are more hits and home runs per game. But the bottom line is the price, power and efficiency of the aluminum bat for college play means it isn’t going anywhere.

The fishing question my son had for me

October 17th, 2009 . by admin

On Saturday morning I was sleeping very well when my son walked into the bedroom. He normally doesn’t do this and it really kind of threw me for a loop. The first words out of his mouth were a dad you have a “trout fishing fly”. I told him to go to the hall closet and get the blue box out. Inside he would find a collection of flies that would be able to help him in his fishing needs. After a couple of other questions he quietly left the room and I was able to go back to sleep. Before I fell asleep my last thoughts were about fishing.

How to make a bike

September 29th, 2009 . by admin

Making a bike is not easy. There are 3 phases involved in the creation of this unique instrument. First, a 55-gallon oil drum is selected for the quality of its steel. A 40-pound sledgehammer is then applied to the bottom of the barrel, stretching the metal into a concave bowl or dish shape beach cruisers. This is called “sinking the pan”  and is the noisiest and most physically exhausting part of the process. It is very important to stretch the metal evenly without tearing it or deforming the rim. Sinking a pan can take up to 5 hours of hammering is then done.

The Business My Dad Wants To Begin

September 25th, 2009 . by admin

One of the things that my father is trying to do is rebuild his life. Three years ago he was in a horrible automobile accident and needed to change some of the parameters of his lifelong goals. My father has always admired weapons of all sorts.

This is why he decided to get involved with some Ohio CCW classes. My father still has some land outside of Akron Ohio and he has some intentions of opening up a gun range. Because of this he wanted to get any certifications and additional knowledge that would help him open up such a business.
