Fireplace Ventilation
June 23rd, 2010 . by adminWe had the chimney cleaned and new bricks laid this summer in hopes of getting more use out of our Fireplace this winter. We’d had trouble with proper ventilation last year and couldn’t burn logs for more than 30 minutes without smoke pouring back into the house. They found some leaves and minor blockages in the flue, but nothing major. Sometimes as older houses settle the drafting required to draw the smoke up and out the chimney is a little off. I really enjoy the smell and coziness of a fire on cold nights, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that the maintenance we did fixed the problem.
